A Calling?!?!

"Would you mind repeating that Bishop? A calling? What on earth? How am I going to do that? What is that? Are you crazy?! Do you even know who I am?? Do you have to run a background check??? Alright...am I being PUNKED??"

Okay, Okay....I'm getting a little too ahead of myself. Let's start from the beginning....

We were peacefully watching American Idol when the door bell rang. I ran for the other room because, let's face it, I'm 8 months pregnant and am wearing as little clothes as possible considering it's 90 degrees in our humble home. I figured it was just another salesman and he would be gone in 30 seconds anyways (2 min. if the guy was really good). However, 5 minutes later, this guy was not leaving. In fact, the "salesman" was sitting on my couch! Before I had a chance to figure out what's going on, Tim comes in and says "You may want to come out here". A little freaked out, I discovered that my ward first counselor was in his "official calling giving garb" sitting on our couch. After some conversing he said...."how would you like a calling?" Tim and I looked at each other and said..."okay..." We were a little hesitant because we could have been agreeing to the dreaded nursery, but instead he gave Tim one of his dream callings.....Wolf Den Leader! He is soooo freaking excited! And other than the fact that I have no idea what we will be doing, I am pretty excited too. We haven't had a calling since we got married and that was over a year and a half ago so it is definately going to take some getting used to. I can't wait until the presidency over the scouts calls us and gives us SOME idea of what we will be doing. Yeah!! I am greatful that God has given us this opportunity. If this won't make us more active in church, nothing will! Thanks for listening to my story....The END.

**By the way...Tami, would you tell Wyatt...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Tim keeps trying to call, but can't get a hold of him...wonder why?! :)

35 Weeks!

Holy Meat Popcicles, I'm 35 weeks cooked! I can't believe how fast time has flown by. It's fantastic and a bit scary. I can't wait to meet my baby, but on the other hand, labor and delivery is not sounding as exciting as before. Man, that epidural is looking mighty tasty. I am now thinking that I won't last 5 minutes into labor without one. Oh well, I guess that's what they are for, right? Not too much longer now....
(Self note...cut off that stupid looking tag on the inside of that shirt.)

The Peanut Shower

Last Saturday, Jodi, my mom and Jessie gave me a baby shower at Robert's Restaurant (my work)! It was more than I could have asked for! Not only was the food and gifts freaking awesome, I loved seeing all the people that I hardly ever get to see. Jessie did a great job at the games and keeping everyone happy! My favorite game was the one where she melted the candy bars in the diapers and everyone had to guess which ones were which. It was so funny seeing everyone smelling and prodding the chocolate to figure out what was inside! Also, I must tell you that my boss Verlinda and her husband Steve were great in letting us use the restaurant and making food for 40 people. I love Steve's chicken marsala!!
Holy Cow, I cannot believe all of the gifts! What on earth am I going to do with it all until our Gavin comes home?! We definately got everything we could possibly need for the first few months. Thank you everybody!

Me, My mom and Jess....wow, my face is...ummm....swollen?

Me, Jess, Jodi (my stepmom), baby sister (in Jodi's belly) and Ian (my little brother). Hey, Jessie......over here!

Oh look, hey it's Lacey and Tami, my two beautiful sister's in law and Tim's momma!
Some of Gavin's presents and Gavin's SUV of a stroller...complete with temp. gauge, clock, underwater capabilities and bullet proof technology.I promise this is the last picture! Tim came to the shower and gave me this bear that he made at Build-a-Bear. It is so cute! I didn't cry until I pushed a button on the bear's arm that said in Tim's voice "Daddy loves you Gavin". I love my husband, he is sure good to me.

A GREAT Saturday!

Although I felt guilty leaving my wonderful husband home last Saturday to landscape a yard, I was definately greatful to my wonderful stepmom, Jodi who took my sister Jessie and I out for a much needed girls day out. Our day began with a delicious lunch at the Olive Garden and after we went for a pedicure at the Hair, Body, and Soul Spa. That pedicure was AWESOME!! I cannot begin to describe how much my toes needed a little TLC, considering the fact that I can barely reach them. The ladies who took care of our toes were so much fun and they even let us use the secret stash of solar color changing nail polish. My toes now change from a soft white color to a dark pink color in the sun! "It's an amazing thing that there technology!" We then sped off to Motherhood Maternity to buy Jodi the cutest overalls and me a baby shower outfit. Jodi really needs to work on her 'evil stepmom' role. She has never quite been able to pull of the evil part. I love her just like a mother and I am greatful for her everyday! I am so glad she's apart of our family and the fact that she is pregnant with me! It is much easier to talk to another pregnant woman about the aches and pains and I cannot wait to have another sister! I love you, Nanna Jodi! Thank you for the Happy Birthday treat!
