Happy Christmas!

I hope that everyone had a fantastic Christmas! We sure did and we'll post pictures super soon. It was quite eventful! I just wanted to say 'We love you all' and I'm so thankful we can celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and spend all of the special time we can with our families. I am so grateful for my family, extended family and friends. We are truly lucky in our relationships that we have.
Church is True!
Families are FOREVER!
My testimony has grown by leaps and bounds this year and I'm so grateful to have a greater understanding in my purposes here on Earth!!
Love Love Love!!

Holiday Cookie Time...Yeah!

Gavin and I have been baking and baking. Some good some bad. We won't dwell on the bad. I'm trying to find the perfect Santa Claus Cookies...we'll see which one won.

(Doesn't he look like a little girl with his hair in a pony tail?)

Pirate Island Pizza

We took Gavin to Pirate Island Pizza a couple of weeks ago in Orem. He had the absolute time of his life!
For those who don't know...Gavin has a little bit of an obsession with pirates. Just a little bit. The food really was AWESOME! It was nice to have the Chucky Cheese play feel, but with a nice sit down restaurant. The kids loved it!

Remind me next time to give the balloon guy a tip...he was so nice when I told him I didn't have cash...he made Gav a balloon sword anyway.

I will be glad when they finish the one in Draper, so we don't have to drive all the way to Orem. Not that it wasn't worth the drive or anything :)

7 Months

Oh, Quinny Quinn...How big you have become! You are the most beautiful and happy baby girl I know!

Let's see. Right now you are:

  • SO CLOSE to crawling. (or scooting)
  • Eats pretty much any food (table food) I give her....she's not too sure on the edibility of babyfood purees
  • LOVES Avocado's right out of the skin
  • Right this moment she's teething up a storm...you can tell her mouth hurts so bad
  • Her giant 'V' on her forehead seems like it will NEVER disappear....'v' for vulcan
  • Waves
  • She LOVES to sing. If she hears someone singing or something playing music she'll sing right along. Gavin loves this game.

A happy rolly polly baby girl

Thanksgiving 2009

Thanksgiving was so much fun this year! My mom got to actually cook and it turned out pretty awesome. I think the best part was my homemade pumpkin chocolate chip cookies....not that I'm meaning to toot my own horn or anything.

We enjoyed dinner while good ol' Quinn was napping. Good girl.
Who needs to stand in line for hours?! Get your kid the all new Turkey Anatomy Kit....Complete with liver, heart...and gizzard.

Quinn got mighty upset when I took the frosted animal cracker out of her hand and replaced it with a sugar free, organic baby biter biscuit.....apparently the girl was not happy.

Poppy found some frosting while I turned around and put it on the dumb cookie. Fat girl loves frosting!

Quinn wore pearls

Gavin wore a dorky face.

In no way was his thankful list scripted by mom and dad...only gramma.
And yes, he did clog the toilet.

Proof we are a LAZY Society

Tim and I were wandering around Costco looking at the various Christmas Loot and we came across this baby:

I know. You're looking at this thinking "Wow, it's a skateboard ramp. You can get those at Costco?!" Oh contrair, my friend... it is the cool new toy for 2009..a FINGERBOARD SKATE RAMP.
I was quite baffled by the idea. I stood there with my head cocked to one side and a raised eyebrow on my face. Really? Are we now so lazy that we need to skateboard via our fingers and knuckles? Maybe it's just a modest attempt at prying the cold fingers from the video games and moving them to something a bit more active.... Like a finger board.

I was even more enthused when I read they actually have official rules...
Official Rules
These are the official rules and if you want to be a good fingerboarder you better start following them...
1- You may only use 2 or 3 fingers.
2- You cannot use your thumb to ollie.
3- You cannot land with your palm across the board.
4- Your thumb may only be used in the air for a grab.
5- You cannot grab and throw your board.
6- You cannot catch the board and then land. You must land with your fingers!
Above all it's just common sense. Only do what feels legal.
(Now, tell me you're not giggling a little bit...BAHAHAHAH!)

The Sights

It was nice to have a GPS (Thanks Grandpa Fowler) to use on our vacation. Now I know why people love them. Honestly, we wouldn't have been able to see half the stuff we saw without it. I loved how you just how to plug in what you want to see and it would take you right there.

Prime Examples:
The Hollywood Sign

Now, tell me this isn't a freaking AWESOME picture taken while driving! (No, not me driving....Tim, silly ;)

The Kodak Theatre (it may not look like it, but I swear it is):

Weird Pirate Guy outside the Kodak Theatre:

Gavin was like this so I had to jump out of the van to take a picture to PROVE to him that I really did see them:

Drove down Santa Monica Blvd (Think of that awesome Sheryll Crow song) and through good ol' Beverly Hills 90210:(I know that these pictures suck...but you get the idea, right?)
Saw the Tower Hotel (What the Tower of Terror was based on):

And before we left the condo, our room looked like this...

These boys had so much freaking fun, it was absolutely ridiculous! We had so much fun and I can't wait to do it all again...except the whole Swine Flu part and the stopping at an InstaCare in St. George on the way home and oh yeah, the screaming baby the whole way home. But other than that...the trip was AMAZING!!

Animal Park and Newport Beach

On Friday we went to Disneyland again and it was such a zoo! We really didn't get more than 5 pictures the whole day and the whole day was dedicated to doing things we loved over again.

Saturday, we headed over to the Animal Park in San Diego. It was...okay. I don't think I had the best of time there, but I think that largely had to do with the fact that Quinn had started to get really sick and I was starting to feel it too (we later found out it was the Swine Flu...). She was just moody and feverish all day long. Not to mention it was a freaking oven the entire day.

This is about how we all felt by the time we left...we were just DONE.
The best part of the day was stopping in Newport Beach and hanging out. It was REALLY foggy, but it made the heat much more bareable and Quinn was able to cool off. Right when we got there she had another HUGE blowout and she had to change into Gavin's extra clothes.

My sicky girl
The boys playing in the surf...I think they had more fun at the beach than the Animal Park.

Thankful Thursday

I know today is Friday, but I really meant to post this yesterday...so pretend it's Thursday and tomorrow is Saturday. Don't worry, it will all work out.

This week I'm Thankful for a whole heck of alot. Especially:
  • Trains that keep my son super happy
  • Quinn's bouncy thingie.
  • Weight Watchers that helps me lose more weight
  • My sweet husband who just text me 'I was just wondering if you washed the towels...because I'm wanting to make animals out of them like they do on the cruise ship"
  • My sister...who watched the kids for me ALL day on Monday and some of Tuesday. She saved me this week.
  • Gavin's insistence I call him 'The Puppet Master'. Maybe that has something to do with hanging out with Jess.
  • Heat in my house and nice hot baths

Seriously, none are more beautiful than we.

Day 4...Universal Studios

Universal was really fun! It was much warmer than the day before, but still not too bad. There was no wait on any of the rides so we jumped on those as fast as we could. Our favorite 'Ride' was definitely the new 'Shrek 4D'. The chairs galloped with the horse and there was water and weird things flying everywhere. It was hilarious!

Gavin really came out of his shell here around the characters. He was really excited to see some of them....apparently.

He doesn't seem too sure about this guy...

Beetlegeuse said that him and Gav had the exact same hair....hilarious!

Hey, we got a wave.

He liked this guy...he was plastic.

As for Quinn, the poor girl seemed to enamor every character and Japanese tourist in a 3 mile radius. It was funny at first...then it became creepy...then just down right ridiculous! We had to basically RIP Sponge Bob off of her after a good 20 minutes of him following us.

Gavin protecting Quinn from Sponge Bob...Like I said, Creepy.

And....of course we need a picture of all of the Japanese tourists taking pictures with MY kids. Doesn't Gavin just look thrilled?!
