UGH...Day 3

Ummm....Kizzie....I'm almost right there with you (see Day 2 comment). Today, Gavin decided that he isn't as interested anymore.....grrrrrrreaaat. Today, we woke up and started the whole routine again and he would hurry and sit down and hurry and get up. Not peeing once in the potty. I then decided to try just leaving his pull ups off and just letting him go 'free' (as Tim calls it) because it's easier for him to pull his pants up and down by himself and I thought the pullups may feel too much like a diaper and he may be less likely to pee in his pants....

WRONG....not only did he pee as soon as I became distracted....he let out a big ol' piece of poo too. Luckily, it was easy to clean up, but boy was that kid devastated when I told him I had to throw away his favorite Thomas jammies (which I didn't have the heart to do by the way). I then gave him another chance to use his pullups and he kept them dry, but I think he was holding it.

Oh well, 2 steps forward and one step back, right? I'm not going to push him too hard. I really don't want him to start holding it.

Luckily, Laraine showed Gavin a new form of motivation....the gumball machine! Hopefully he'll do better tomorrow....but I'm not going to push it...even though my brain is sick of hearing "do you have to go potty" "Go sit on the potty" "Don't pee or poop in your pants"......

I swear that's all I hear ALL DAY long.

PT- Day 2

I'm sure everyone is still adamantly enthralled in the everyday bodily eliminations of my offspring. So for everyone following his potty training success....Here's Day #2's progress:

I honestly didn't know what to expect today. I was even thinking he would lose all interest in the potty thing. Thank goodness, he did even better than I expected. He still listened when I told him to go potty. We only had one accident in the Cars Pullups after naptime (expected) and then the rest of the night he was AMAZING! I even felt a bit guilty throwing away a DRY diaper that had been on him all night.

He still hasn't told me that he has to go potty yet. I've just been making sure to take him to the potty every 30 min or so whether he goes or not. No poop, yet.....but no poop in the diaper either.

Hopefully, by tomorrow, he'll have pooped in the potty and got his prize. He wants his prize so bad, so hopefully he'll have earned it by tomorrow.....hopefully.....if not, someone get my kid an exlax!

Potty Training--Day 1

The day has come. Potty Training 101 begins.....
Today...so far, so good. He is really good at going in the potty when I tell him it's time. However, we both got distracted for about 20 minutes and he ended up peeing in his Cars Pullups. He was so sad that I had to throw them in the garbage and put a diaper on him. He really doesn't like to wear diapers and he wants to wear big boy undies like his cousins and uncle Ian.
After nap time, (around 6 tonight....don't ask), Gavin wanted nothing to do with the potty. He was so tired and out of it that he didn't care. He was just so mad Tim went snowboarding without him that I didn't want to push it too bad and have him totally digress. We'll take it a step at a time this week and see how next week goes.
I honestly have no expectations. I'm just going to be as consistent as possible. I simply say this so I don't look like this in a few weeks:

My Chubby Girl

This picture is not from today...I don't get a CD of the images at this new place....

Today I had my 34 week midwife apt. and it was wonderful. I went in for an u/s first and they told me the placenta is looking perfect...no more previa and nice and high. Baby's got chubby cheeks just like Gavin and the baby is definately still a GIRL. I'm very happy about that....I don't want to take back any of the cute dresses and such. While looking at her face, I think she looks just like Gavin did. We'll see though....just a few more weeks! She's still head down and ready to go and all Gavin keeps saying is "okay mom, 1..2...3......PUSH BABY OUT!" Hey, atleast he's grasped the concept (maybe I shouldn't let him watch those TLC/Discovery Health Channel shows. He's really understanding of how she's coming out :)
As for the whole potty training I was 'supposed' to start this week....well, that won't be happening until next week now. I ended up working on Wednesday, which is fine because I didn't work Monday, and then with all of my appointments today....I didn't think I could really get him into a routine. Hopefully we can start full on next Wednesday! Poor kid is ready, but mommy isn't just yet!

I CHEATED!!!

ARGH!! I did it!! I was one freaking click away and I couldn't find the willpower. I am in awe that he kicked 'her' (I won't say the name just in case) off. Then again, I would have been surprised if anyone was kicked off. I honestly love all of the girls!! I am totally on TEAM MELISSA, though. Always have, always will. ARGH! I have no pride!

Here we go again...

I was 'rummaging' through some old photos and I found Gavin's first pictures. Oh, the memories. Just the fact that I'm about to do it all over again is amazing to me. I really can't wait to have my baby here!
Also, I hope everyone's President's Day was eventful. Today I went with my best friends to lunch and then joined them later at water aerobics. No, I didn't really get 'aerobic' but I was an EXCELLENT life preserver....or booey. Oh man, you should have seen the people staring.
OH yes, and I am trying DESPERATELY to not cheat and find out who got the boot on the Bachelor tonight. I have to wait until tomorrow.....just one little click and I could find out......but I won't do it....because I'm better than that.....I think.
Anyways, I hope everyone enjoyed their day off!!!

So Far So Good...

There really hasn't been much going on since I last posted. Christmas was great. Of course my wonderful husband spoiled the heck out of Gavin and I and of course I couldn't even come close to being as good at Christmas as he is.

Gavin is DEFINATELY in his terrible twos (I was wondering when that was going to start) but he's very selective with when he brings out the monster. The best news is that he has been going to the nursery church ALL BY HIMSELF!! There are a few tears shed, but no one has dragged me out of Relief Society to console him. That's one step in the right direction!! Also, I'm beginning 'hardcore' potty training on Wednesday (we'll see how that one goes). AND we painted his new 'big boy' room and got it all ready for his big move in a couple of weeks (let me get through potty training first).

Tim really did a great job on the boy's room.

As for the baby girl (yes, she's still a girl) I still have way too much to do in such a short time frame. Tim reminded me the other day that if she is born as early as Gavin was she'll be here in about 5 weeks. YIKES! I have barely anything done! This weekend, we FINALLY purchased the bedding for her room after long bouts of depression on how ugly the other one we chose was. The one we were going to get was not as nice in person. Very expensive for something VERY cheaply made. We picked this one out and I love it!

This picture definately doesn't do it justice. I never would have picked it out online, but when we saw it in the store it was just so cute!!

I 'hopefully' have one last ultrasound on my placenta Thursday and hopefully they say I'm good to go on the whole labor thing. I've been switching midwives (thanks to insurance changes) and trying to get everything together has been daunting. I love my new midwife and I'm excited to deliver at the new hospital. Either way, babies got to come out some how and it really doesn't matter who catches it...as long as their hands are clean.

Update Time

I know your all impressed to see me writing again. Don't lie to yourselves either...It's amazing! I just can't seem to sit at the computer for longer than 15 minutes. Around the 16 minute mark my baby girl starts shoving herself in my ribs telling me, once again, it's time to stand. (She's already telling me what to do!) So for now, my blog is under construction. I will update soon!
